The 2nd edition game will now be a basic financial game with a series of expansion packs. I made the decision to expose new players to a simple, but entertaining investing game that will be much easier to learn and play out of the box. Once the basic game is mastered, players to then decide to select expansion packs to increase player interaction, add more complex investments, and insert a variety of random economic events. The conversion from a 4-level game to an expansion pack model is complete. New games available by fall/winter 2017.
I’m getting excited about attending the GrandCon gaming convention on the 17th. My first one! I’ll be demoing “Riches or Ruin - Hogg Wild for Wealth” card game to anyone I can grab for a quick game. Next year, I hope to join the other vendors, when I unveil the 2nd edition game.
Level 1, Piglet Apprentice, is the first level to get an upgrade. Prototype was received and is being play-tested. I've added a bonus level to Hogg Wild for Wealth called "PIGs go to Market," where I have included industrial properties to compliment the commercial side of investing.
I've delayed the new edition until the Spring of 2017. I'm looking forward to unveiling the upgrade to all four levels of play next year. Oink!
I've been working on the 2nd edition for this fall/winter. I'm adding negative cash flow to portfolios and created industrial type assets, like factories, farms, manufacturing, etc. The 2nd edition will also have updated graphics.
Topp Hogg Games has secured a table at the annual GrandCon in Grand Rapids, Michigan...my old stomping ground! The event will be held on September 16th - 18th, 2016. I'll be showing off my original game and introduce the new 2nd Edition of "Hogg Wild for Wealth." Learn more about the updated game here.
Since I love getting the creative juices going, I just couldn't help myself. After receiving player feedback and online game reviews for "Hogg Wild for Wealth," I've decided to incorporate additional features. I expect to roll-out the updated game this fall. See the list of new features here.
I think players will really appreciate the aspect of learning the Level 1 game, Piglet Apprentice, before advancing to higher levels. This is where the mechanics of managing a portfolio of investments that is based on randomly changing economic conditions is learned. It can be played open hand, as well, allowing players to learn from each other on how best to invest their money based on the current economy. Players will learn when each investment (stocks, bonds, real estate, collectibles, and precious metals) is best to buy, sell or hold in their portfolio. Actually, Piglet Apprentice is really all about portfolio management! Be a good investor and you will become Topp Hogg!
Uncle deciding what to buy...real estate, maybe? Economy goes against me and he eventually wins the Topp Hogg award...this time.
Great news! Barnes and Noble should have the Casual Game Insider magazine on their shelves now. I just received a PDF file of Issue #13 - Fall 2015 edition from the editor. I found my game ad on page 30! Time to go wallow in the mud... OINK!
